Breaking news: Velvet ceases trading

Velvet, who operate buses in and around Eastleigh and Southampton, have ceased trading today.

  1. I have just taken a look at the Velvet website and whilst it still doesn't give any information on the new ownership its timetable pages have been updated.

    Those still listed are the A, B4, M, S1, S2, and 502.

    Those no longer showing are the E8 (evening Eastleigh to Boyatt Wood), X4 (evening Eastleigh to West End and Hedge End), X7 (evening and Sunday Eastleigh to Chandlers Ford) and 503 (Barton Peverill College to Thornden School)

  2. Another one has gone under "The Hatts Travel Group" It includes the following companies. Currently Hatts of Salisbury. which operates the P&R service is still trading under the administrators

Salisbury Reds bus company has taken over operating the following services: 7 and 8A - Devizes Road/Quidhampton to the city centre, 12 - Stratford Bridge, Devonshire Road and Wyndham Road to the city centre, 14 – Milton Road, Harvard Heights and Harnham Hill to the city centre, 44 – Salisbury, Odstock, Downton, Redlynch, Woodfalls, and 66 – Salisbury to Tidworth via Shipton Bellinger.

    Another service, the 29 from Shaftesbury to Salisbury via the Chalke Valley villages, will be run by sister firm Damory Coaches.
